WIth times like these it is easy to make a deal with providers. After all, i am not dependant on most of these things and to my surprise, it mattered when i told them. My internet provider dropped myt bill 10.00 a month for 1 year!

My Insurance company dropped 60.00 off my yearly rate. 5.99 a month savings. My cell phone provider ( i have no contract obligations) They decided it was better to keep me with a discount than to lose me. They gave me 4.99 per month off my bill.

And lastly My Satelite provider dropped 5 dollars a month off my bill.

I spend 25.00 per week on gas. No matter what the prices are. I will ride a bike if i am empty. But i just gained a free week in all my savings! WHat are you doing to save? And if you havenet called your providers try it! Dont be too proud to ask. They will help you to keep you!
I wish i could downsize my vehicle. I just bought an SUV last year. I really need it. I have my kid and his friends always! Football , baseball, Drive in movies,I do yard work and i like the space it provides to haul stuff, without having an open back truck, it is perfect for me. Just the gas… It sucks!

Some states allow you to prove “financial responsibility” instead of purchasing auto insurance. If you don’t have a mortgage, nobody will force you to buy homeowner’s insurance. Has anybody done it? How does it work? and would you recommend it? I think insurance — any insurance — should ONLY be purchased if it is a good deal financially, and if not, why should you if you are willing and financially able to take the risk yourself? Shouldn’t it be a goal to become self-sufficient whereever possible?
