I have been saving tons of money in the past couple of months but now whenever I’m out I think, “Oh, I have a lot of money saved I can afford this and that” And then I end up spending more then I should have. How do I keep motivated to continue saving and not spend it?

I have trouble saving money, but I’d really like to get a car soon. I’m supposed to take my road test to get my license within the next few months. Any suggestions on the best way to save money? Your help would be so greatly appreciated!

I’m pretty bad when it comes to saving money. It’s better than it was before, but still pretty bad. I’ll save then run out in my checking and go online and transfer money from my savings. I don’t know why I don’t have more discipline.

What are some tips on saving?

And please, if you’re aren’t going to post something helpful then please don’t post.

I am interested in hearing things that you do that not only save money for you (e.g. power bill), but are also great for the environment. For example, a few things that I do to knock down the energy bill and that are good for the enviro:

1- Turn off the A/C when I leave my apartment
2- Use a drying rack instead of the dryer for my clothes
3- Keep almost all lights turned off
4- Don’t leave appliances on

A few other random things that I do that help save me money and are good for the environment are things like catching the bus to school, recycling (hehe, although doesn’t really save me money), trying to minimize driving, taking showers instead of baths, and that’s about it. Any other things you do around your house to save on the money and help the environment?

As a SAHM and just in general a frugal person, I am always looking for tips to save money. I will share a few of mine too. Here are my favorite money saving tips

Use a crock pot, it takes less money to run than your oves, saves tons of time, food turns out great, and it doesn’t heat the house.

Use a Toaster oven. When I’m not cooking in the crock pot I’m cooking in my toaster oven. I bought one big enough to bake pies, bread, cake in square cake pan, cookies, chicken, steaks, etc….. I bought a regular toaster for making toast. I feel making toast in a large toaster oven is a waste of electricity.

Buy used when possible. I bought my sons loft bed for $150 the same exact bed sales for $1000 at our local kids furniture store. I bought his power wheels 2 seater jeep for $30. and I bought a Quadra Fire gas insert for $250, we were looking at the same one at a local store for $2500. These are just a few bargains I have found.

I am planning a trip to Orlando this summer and want to sign up with some companies for a timeshare presentation to save some money and get free tickets, etc. I have heard that some even give out $100. Any suggestions on how to go about this, what companies to look into and where to sign up? Thanks in advance!

If companies realy wanted to save money the would take a hard look at this question before it started destroying the economy any more than they already have by laying off the people that buy thier products.
