Money Saving Deal

I need to know precisely where my property lines are. The last survey estimate I received was over 900 dollars! I can’t afford that. My lot is not very big. It’s approximately 116 feet x 42 feet.

Why does a property survey cost so much?
Is there a way to save money on receiving a property survey?

I have x amount of dollars for the down payment for my first home in cash. If I were to put that into a savings account and then apply for a mortgage, would that look better on me? I was thinking it was a way to prove that I really did have the money instead of the banker just taking my word for it. What other good steps should I take before applying for a mortgage?

I am a young person just about to finish up college. I am looking to move out of the apartment that me and my girlfriends rent together and move into a repossessed house. How do i get a good deal? Also i am looking in the san diego area. Are there any free websites, and how much money should i have saved up. I do have a good amount of money and i am a very responsible saver. If anyone has experience with this, any knowledge would be great. Also is this a bad time to buy?

I am in the process of trying to buy a house and the lender has asked for me to put down $3800 when from the beginning we were told we could get 100% financing. I have been saving and I have some money to go against this but I have also had to come out of pocket with other cash for the appraisal, putting a contact on the house, termite inspection, etc. So far I have a lot invested here. My question is though is there anywhere in the loan or realtor fees that costs can be cut so that they can help us. I mean if we lose this loan it is going to be by like $1500 and I **** to know that I have all this time and money invested so far and that is all that is keeping me from being able to buy. I got a good rate and everything with the loan sounds good, its just now the out of pocket expense that is hard to come up with?? Help anyone!!!
