Money Saving Deal

Is it really worth it to rent text books? Money wise?

Lovely lady asked:

I am about to rent a text book from Chegg.com and I dont know if it is a good choice money wise. The book costs $72.45 in my college bookstore, in Chegg it costs $45.58 to rent all semester. But then its $8 in shipping and in taxes fees, so now its $53.58 then it would be saving me $18.87. I keep thinking that it probably it would be better to buy the book for $72.45 then later sell it for $62.45. What would be the better deal? I need to save money!!
Actually that is the price for used. New is $115.10. I tried everywhere even ebay, half.com
