Money Saving Deal

January wedding is supposed to save you money?

Paulette A asked:

I keep getting price quotes from different venues and they seem to be “regular” prices? Am I supposed to negotiate for a better deal? Or are most places just the same price year-round? I live in So. CA, where the weather doesn’t really change much but I’ve worked in special events/catering and it gets REALLY slow in January. You would think I’d get a good rate if people are dying for business to come their way. Any advice? I’d **** to have to pay over $7000 for just the reception for 100 people.
We don’t have the “backyard” option… my family is 3,000mi away in the Caribbean. His mom’s backyard is really small (it is L.A. afterall, I know backyards are larger in other states, but not here). I want to keep the ceremony and reception in the same location, and I don’t want to have to rent everything myself ( I know what a nightmare it is to deal with rental companies).
Oh and I almost forgot… with enough notice, people can take advantage of all the Christmas sales to get wedding presents at great prices! :o)

I don’t know if this helps but I live in Pa and the weather does change, and so does pricing. It is cheaper to do a wedding in the winter around here. If I were you I would try to negotiate a price, what’s gonna happen they say no. If you don’t ask them you might pay more than you would have if you asked.
Or if you have a friend or relative who has a really nice backyard you could do it there… good luck

An obvious price break especially if they know you an obvious price break not many venues will have your bridal party.
The the most guests are still financially reeling from christmas your heart set on honeymoon january is not necessarily priority to you have to think vendors are everywhere trust me am one though wed like to business owners brides are clamoring.
